NightSafe Community Medical

Bridging The Gap Between The Community And Healthcare

Night Safe is a community-based night-time safety and early intervention program designed to reduce preventable harm, avoid unnecessary ambulance call outs, and minimise non-urgent emergency department presentations in Perth’s key nightlife and CBD areas.

Operated under Rescue Recovery 1 Pty Ltd, Night Safe provides a visible, clinically trained presence during peak night-time hours when emergency services and hospitals experience the highest demand.

Through foot patrols and a mobile vehicle-based response supported by an on-call dispatch phone line, Night Safe delivers first aid, welfare checks, de-escalation, and mental health support to community members who may otherwise have no safe or accessible alternative to hospital care.

The program priorities support for people who are experiencing the effects of alcohol and other drugs, as well as those of low socio-economic status, including those experiencing homelessness, while remaining accessible to all members of the community.

Night Safe medical commenced as a six-week pilot from 1 January 2026, operating two nights per week. Data gathered during this pilot will inform refinement and expansion of the model into a fully funded 12- month program.

As this program aims to support the community, we have attached below links to the official proposal and stage 1 results to ensure the public and stakeholders are kept informed, and this project remains transparent and focused on the community.
